A SEEDY SITUATION?
Leonard Chess is very excited these days about a Browley Guy disking on Checker label entitled "Watermelon Man." Seems the lad, who had done nothing musically before, one day came up to Len with this tune he had written. Len liked the ditty and immediately had it recorded. Len asks, "Remember the men who travelled around from house to house selling watermelons? Well, this tune is very reminiscent of those guys"....
