Above: Label images for Joe Davis 7192-A and RCA Victor 20-5013. Bon Bon had many releases on the (Joe) Davis label (1945-47), most backed by The Red Caps Trio (sometimes under the pseudonym "Park Avenue Trio"). The Red Caps Trio were Steve Gibson (guitar), Romaine Brown (piano), and either Israel Crosby or David Patillo (bass).

Along with Steve Gibson, the Original Red Caps on this record (above right) were Jimmy Springs, David Patillo, Romaine Brown, Emmett Matthews, and Damita Jo.

"Truthfully" is a Joe Davis composition which was also recorded by Dean Barlow using different lyrics and released on the Davis label (1956). It was also recorded by The Deep River Boys and released on Beacon (1952) and again on Jay-Dee (1954). All three labels were owned by Joe Davis.
