SPOTLIGHT ON BEACON RECORDS

Above: Full page (9 x 13 inches) clipping from Billboard Music Yearbook 1943. Beacon, located in New York City, was owned by Joe Davis. According to the same Billboard, Beacon Record Company Home Office was located at 1619 Broadway, NYC (different than above clipping), and Home Office Executives were Joe Davis, President and Recording Manager; William Campbell, Assistant Recording Manager; and Fritz Pollard, Talent Manager. Davis also owned the Davis, Joe Davis, Celebrity, and Gennett labels in the 1940's and would release the same record on multiples of these labels, many times simultaneously.
