Above: Percy Mayfield With His Maytones, who were actually three members of The Meadowlarks, Ronald Barrett, Donald Julian and Earl Jones. Mayfield is most known for his big hit "Please Send Me Someone To Love" on Specialty in 1951.

Above Right: Label image of Specialty 537 recorded on October 18, 1954 and released in November 1954. "P. Mayfield" is composer on both sides. The Maytones had one more side released, on Specialty 544 in February 1955, with Percy Mayfield.

The Meadowlarks, with Randy Jones as their fourth singer, had just two records prior to the Specialty sides. They were both released on the RPM label early in 1954.
